Janet LeClair
I was a television producer, Avid media composer editor and on-air director for Radio-Canada. I worked for the corp since 1983. During that time, I produced and directed many television shows such as the local newscasts, a forum on french minorities with a live studio audience, several live coverage of the provincial elections, as well as all the promotional spots for television and radio programs, just to name a few. I am the recipient of the Arts Council of Canada award for best coverage of an arts and cultural program that ran for five years and was broadcasted in the west as well as on RDI. I also, re-educated myself and became an Avid Editor and After Effects specialist and produced and edited my own work. Throughout the years, technological changes were inevitable and I was one the innovating people that could help train and update resources.
Since being laid off, I am taking an intensive four month program in Multimedia and Web Development at UBC. I believe the web is the future and that television the way we know will change dramatically. I am hoping that completing this certified program and receiving my Bachelor of Technology will bring me a rewarding new career with new challenges and responsibilities.
