I joined the CBC Radio 3 team in Vancouver when satellite radio launched in Canada at the end of 2005. On-air at CBC Radio 3, I was able to champion Canadian indie music on a daily basis as host of L Communication. Everyone at R3 is passionate about music, and my particular niche is in Canadian hip hop culture. I am especially proud of my contribution to hip hop specific programming on the show, on the cbcradio3.com blog, and on the R3 podcasts.

My work as a host at R3 went beyond just announcing; programming, conducting interviews, editing audio, artist outreach, and exploring Independent Canadian Culture from every angle. I hope to continue this work in the future through freelance opportunities at CBC Radio, and cultural event production in Vancouver.

UPDATE: Lauren has joined the DNTO team in Winnipeg working as Music Programmer until April 2010.
