I accepted a Voluntary Layoff in July. I work in Windsor, Ontario as a Video Journalist. I started working for the CBC in 1977 as a contract film cameraman and went on staff in 1982. The conversion to ENG allowed me to shoot video tape and that continued until 1990. I was laid off...but hired back in 1994 when the CBC decided that closing local stations wasn't such a good idea as orginally thought. I became a video journalis in 1995. After thirty-six years it's time to step aside and allow the next wave of CBC'ers to take over. I will enjoy my voluntary layoff (aka retirement) fishing at my cottage, volunteering in my community and being Josie Ann's grandpa.
