Mike TanakaMike Tanaka
Mike joined English TV Technical in January of 2001. His first job was to tackle the Chyrons and investigate a communication problem with what was then Avstar. (After a lengthy investigation and a twenty-page report, it turned out to be a loose cable.) Shortly after he joined TV Audio, where he quickly found himself working on News, EFP Audio, Network Sports and Special Events. When ZeD came to CBC Vancouver, Mike took on the role of Technical Liaison between TV Tech and ZeD's New Media components.

In his last few years with CBC, Mike began to specialize on Commentator Control Booth setup and operation for Host Broadcaster events. His favourite gig remains working with FujiTV for the 2009 Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver, where he became determined to one day find work in Japan. When TV Production began to slow down, Mike started working on CBC Radio Remotes where he had a great time doing A2, Monitors and FOH work. Treating CBC as one big university for Broadcasting, Mike never imagined he would be cleaning out his locker at the same time as his teachers! However he is excited to move forward and perhaps one day find that job in Japan.
