I began working at the CBC as a casual in Radio Current Affairs in 2007, mostly on The Early Edition and BC Almanac in Vancouver. Though technically not a full time employee of the CBC, I was often working full time at the CBC during much of the year, filling the holes in the schedule.  But the two main positions I regularly filled in on have now been cut.  So has some of the freelance money, which funded many of my other projects for other CBC shows.  I have thus been working much less than before (approx. 1 shift every week or two) and have less freelance money from the CBC coming in.  Needless to say, I have a lot less certainty on where next month's rent is coming from than before.

Presently, I am about to premier as host/creator of a new TV series on OUTtv called Don't Quit Your Gay Job on August 31, 2009. I have continued freelancing, but more as a Video Journalist and writer for Pink Triangle Press - publishers of fab magazine and Xtra, and Xtra West.  I still pitch stories to the CBC and other publications and I am looking for more regular full time work in TV production as a story producer.
